Maintenance Repairman Interview Questions

There are 3 different sets of questions for this title
1 Describe a time when you successfully serviced, repaired, or tested a machine or device that operates mainly by mechanical principles.
2 Share an experience in which you've successfully learned how to handle a new piece of equipment?
3 Name a time when you diagnosed mechanical problems and determined how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
4 Describe methods you have found effective to perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
5 Tell me about a recent experience you've had working with your hands.
6 Tell me how you organize, plan, and prioritize your work.
7 Share an experience when you applied new technology or information in your job. How did it help your company?
8 Tell me about an experience in which you analyzed information and evaluated results to choose the best solution to a problem.
9 Tell me about your last experience doing repair work. How did you determine what tools you needed?
10 Tell me about the last time you performed routine maintenance on equipment. How did you determine when and what type of work was needed?
11 Provide an example of a time when you successfully organized a diverse group of people to accomplish a task.
12 Tell me about your qualifications for and your experience handling vehicles and/or mechanized equpiment.
13 What kind of experience do you have using tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices?
14 Share an experience in which your attention to detail and thoroughness had an impact on your last company.
15 Share an example of when you went above and beyond the "call of duty". (Look for answers that show the candidate is dependable.)
