1 Share an experience in which you've successfully learned how to handle a new piece of equipment?
2 What kind of experience do you have operating steam, hydraulic, or other pressing machines to remove wrinkles from garments and flatwork items, or to shape, form, or patch articles?
3 What have you found to be the best way to lower irons, rams, or pressing heads of machines into position over material to be pressed?
4 What is the most challenging part of selecting appropriate pressing machines, based on garment properties such as heat tolerance?
5 Share an example when you pushed and pulled irons over surfaces of articles to smooth or shape them.
6 Describe methods you have found helpful to finish pleated garments, determining sizes of pleats from evidence of old pleats or from work orders, using machine presses or hand irons.
7 Walk me through how you would position materials such as cloth garments, felt, or straw on tables, dies, or feeding mechanisms of pressing machines, or on ironing boards or work tables.
8 Share an experience in which your attention to detail and thoroughness had an impact on your last company.
9 Share an example of when you went above and beyond the "call of duty". (Look for answers that show the candidate is dependable.)
