Machine Washer Interview Questions

1 Share an experience in which your attention to detail and thoroughness had an impact on your last company.
2 Share an example when you sprayed steam, water, or air over spots to flush out chemicals, dry material, raise naps, or brighten colors.
3 Share an effective system when you receive and mark articles for laundry or dry cleaning with identifying code numbers or names, using hand or machine markers.
4 What kind of experience do you have testing fabrics in inconspicuous places to determine whether solvents will damage dyes or fabrics? Share an example.
5 Describe an experience when you started washers, dry cleaners, driers, or extractors, and turn valves or levers to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives.
6 What have you found to be the best way to sort and count articles removed from dryers, and fold, wrap, or hang them?
7 Provide an example when your ethics were tested.
8 Walk me through how you would operate machines that comb, dry and polish furs, clean, sterilize and fluff feathers and blankets, or roll and package towels.
9 Share your approach to mixing and adding detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals to clean, color, dry, or stiffen articles.
10 Share an example of when you went above and beyond the "call of duty". (Look for answers that show the candidate is dependable.)
11 What kind of experience do you have sprinkling chemical solvents over stains, and pat areas with brushes or sponges to remove stains?
12 What is the most challenging part of matching sample colors, applying knowledge of bleaching agent and dye properties, and types, construction, conditions, and colors of articles?
13 Describe methods you have found useful to inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, to locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment.
14 Name a time when you identified articles' fabrics and original dyes by sight and touch, or by testing samples with fire or chemical reagents.
15 Tell me about a time when you developed your own way of doing things or were self-motivated to finish an important task.
